I have a question for botmasters out there, particularly bots that make money directly. Can these bots do their jobs effectively from FREE Accounts? Are there limitations for using Free Accounts with bots? If your type of bot does require a premium account, is it solely a $9.95 membership that your bots hold, or are there circumstances where a bot would have to hold higher tier fees?
This question is not just for landbots but camping bots and other forms of bot that generate money for their botmasters.

I once had a bot that was a basic account, but then after scanning the grid once, it met another bot and they eventually partnered and it upgraded its account to premium for regular LL tier fee's so I do not think there is any circumstance where a bot would have to hold higher tier fees.

An avatar or bot does not have to be premium to make money in SL. You can simply transfer any earnings from the alts to one primary avatar that can cash in the Lindens.

I think you can rest fairly well assured the bulk of accounts operated by bot programs are basic accounts, that is, unpaid for accounts.

The first bots that (as I recall) actually drew attention of the grid population were land swooping bots that hammered the land for sale search and upon finding a property who's value met the bot runners criteria, immediately TP'd to it, bought it, and (usually) flipped it.
Those bots have largely (but not completely) been hobbled, but, in order to buy mainland, you need to have a premium account, so, in answer to your question those bots would need to be premium account holders.
