http://play.toontown.com/webHome.php?r=50555Seems like LLABS is adding age checking due to Disney`s new Online game..... 3 day free trail.........I know its not Mature and its aimded at kids. But I wonder if Disney is doing the same type of age checking. Hence why LLAbs is now doing the checking. Usagi

My kids have been playing Toontown for quite sometime now. It's not new. And I doubt LL is deciding to verify age because of anything Disney is or is not doing with Toontown.

Insane..... "These characters are all original creations" my ass. That takes a very special brand of dishonesty to even let that escape your mouth, doesn't it? .

From: Usagi Musashi But this is Disney.....and many thought Disney was coming to Sl......Not anymore. Disney is not just Mickey Mouse. They have many other companies, such as the ABC television network, ESPN and Pixar. We might not see Mickey Mouse in SL, but its very possible that one of their other brands will have a presence here.

Hahaha being a ex shockholder of Disney I already know this.But thanks anyways........ What does Disney being involved have anything to do with what I said? And Where did i say it was only mickey mouse Disney was? I highly double Disney will bring in any other "BRAND" or a better term "subsitary" of there company to SL. But this make intersting reading never the less, that Disney has gotten intot he online game area......Its pretty basic but stillits a good start........

From: someone Disney`s new Online game Toontown Online started in 2003. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toontown_OnlineFrom: someone First introduced in the United States in 2003, Disney has since produced versions of Toontown for the United Kingdom (which has a different homepage but uses the same game servers), France, Spain, Japan, and Southeast Asia. ~wikipedia
2007 - 2003 = 4 4 != new.

Wikipedia says that Toontown started in 2003, but the Toontown release notes go back farther than October 15, 2001: From: someone October 15, 2001 What's New In Version 1.0.7
Update fixed many known issues and added new features. Please see below for details. above from http://play.toontown.com/oldNews.phpThere's an older release note but it isn't dated. I got my Toontown membership confirmation back in Jun 5, 2004 - 7:08am .

huh, how does the existence of Toontown Online relate to LL implementing age verification? I think you made a leap of cognition here and should explain your reasoning, because I don't see how one relates to the other.

Sorry I not getting inthe battle of the ego......... hahaha it nevr fails with some.. no not really, in the us if theres adult material you must be 18, if theres gambling you must be 21, they should have been doing this since day one but havent, im suprised there hasnt been an issue with it before hand its not becuase of Disney, heck disney doesnt care what age you are, as long as the credit card is valid and they can come back on you if you try something funny, theres <10 year old kids along with their parents in toontown all the time even ive spent some time in toontown helping my neices while they had to do a chore or whatever, altho i dont have my own account

From: LeVey Palou Again, another valid reason for trial accounts in sl...... Well it would be better yes. Disney is offering 4.95 for a month as trail at the 3 days..Why doesnt LLABS offer this again.
