Question about Teleporting

Hi all,

In game, when I click on a landmark in my inventory and then teleport to its location, I see a giant red column sticking up at the teleport location - usually several meters away from me. There's also an annoying arrow that points to this column. To get rid of it, I have to open the map and press the clear button.

Is there some way I can turn this feature off or at least make it easier to clear the map?

Thanks!

Right-click on the mini-map and select "stop tracking".

...or just click the annoying arrow that points to the column :)

That column is called a beachon and is useful in cases where the location to which you teleport/land is not the same as the location you seek. The beacon makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

Land/Estate owners often create a landing point or telehub - these are places where all people that teleport to a parcel of land (or estate) go to first. The beacon indicates the actual location of the landmark to make it easier to find.

I didn't realize I could just click on the arrow - thanks! Sometimes the teleport will take me RIGHT to where I want to be and the beacon will be like another 30 or 40 meters away in the middle of nothing... Weird.

You see the red line (and aren't TP'd to the exact point you want) because some people have their land set to "landing point". THis prevents people from teleporting to random points on their land, and forces people to land on the "landing point".
