Someone just told me in world that firewall rules for First Look must be changed to forward TCP and UDP packets on ports 12035, 12036 and 13000-13050, not just UDP as for the official viewer. Can anybody confirm this?

If true this page should prolly be updatd also, http://secondlife.com/whatis/faq.php

"Second Life needs to connect to ports 443/TCP, 12035/UDP, 12036/UDP, and 13000-13050/UDP. You should configure your firewall to allow outbound traffic on those ports, and related inbound traffic. "

Once the First Look viewer is the production viewer they will update that info...I do believe it's in the First Look release notes, or discussed in one of the First Look blog entries

They also added port 12043 to foward outbound tcp which affected a few people teleporting.

It's not mentioned in the release notes and the blog only tells you to forward TCP too "if you have trouble".

This is Second Life. Everybody has trouble.

A definitive answer to "has the networking protocol changed" would still be useful especially as many First Look changes are about to made official (http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/02/09/windows-vista-status/). =)

Edit: I saw your response after posting Simstick. Thank-you. =) I'll try to track down somebody like Vektor Linden and ask. Will post the response here.
