IMs Capped

if your IMs are capped will someone sending you an IM receive a message saying that it was not received or will they just think you got the message even tho you didn't?

They get no message back that your IM's have been capped

after a number im send while offline.........its caped......been that way for awhile.

Good solution is to set it so that your IM's go to your email inbox as well, that way if they get capped in-world, you'll still recieve them via email and know what you missed.

Yea kinda sucks when they cap because people just assume your not responding. I hate sending them to email as well because then my inbox is filled with random 1 liners sent to me by my landboxes, vending machines, rental boxes, ect. I was under the impression that even with the email setting they still capped. If its on email will you get every im?

What is the technical reason for a cap which is apparently very low?

it was suppse to reduce load........ there was no real explaination.

I have. I get the message in SL "IM's capped" but I still recieve all the messages to my inbox, for example a few times I've carried on conversations with my girlfriend when I was at work, while she was in-world, and recieved every IM back.

As an aside, I created a seperate email address all for Second Life, and the messages I recieve, lol.
