First thing, update your graphics drivers.

Then, clear cache.

Then review your Preferences and start turning things off.

Wavie - you need to report your machine specifics (OS and graphics card specifically) on the blog here.

If you don't know about your video card, when you are in-world, go up to your taskbar and then to Help>About Second Life and then copy everything you see there about your machine's specs to the blog with your issue. There are some folks with certain hardware configs who are having problems with the optional update (you can revert back to the old viewer in the meantime). I hope this helps.

I suspect it's that you're working with an older video card. It could be a driver issue but I would definitely not change a thing with those unless you know what you're doing and what version drivers you're currently using.

To get the older viewer back, download it here.

Let me know if you need help with drivers. However, please also report your crash and paste those specs on the blog.

Take care,
gillian
