Inventory empty

Can someone please help? Almost eveything in my inventory seems to be gone. THe folders are there, but they cannot be opened (the little white triangle beside them is not there). What did I do??

Edit / Preferences
Under Network, click Clear Cache
Under General, make sure you have "Show Start Location" selected

Close SL & reopen

Under your name type in a quiet, lagfree sim, Hahne makes a good one since it's only water.

Open your inventory and type something (anything really) in the search to trigger the refetch and wait for it to finish.

You may have (temporarily or otherwise) lost inventory, but it could simply be a problem with your/the sim's connection to the asset server as well.

Check your packet loss in Help / About SecondLife as well, if you're getting a high amount of packet loss, that could prevent a proper download of your inventory, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's gone.

Also note the total item count in between relogs (and clear cache before logging off) and see if it fluctuates at all. It semi-regularly seems to be off by a dozen to a few hundred items for me but they'll just reappear later on or a few days later.
