Hi Morgana

I get this too - have done from Day One. My computer just met the minimum specs when I signed up and my graphics card is now below what is recommended. I dread each update. What are your specs?

It helps to turn draw distance down to 64m (that's as low as it will go); in Graphics Detail turn off local lighting and set terrain to low. Turn off ripple water and shiny. Disapppointing I know, but you can still function reasonably well.

When it gets too bad I log off and clear my cache - I don't use the clear cache option in Prefs but on my computer (in a Mac that's Library/Application Support - sorry don't know what you do on a PC).

If you don't want to log off, go into Client (ctrl+alt+shift+D), Rendering, Types and try turning off some of the options - particles is a good one!).

Hope this helps

Happens to me. I've always had that problem. Not always, but sometimes, I've found tricks to dealing with it; one is panning to the ground and focusing on it, then turning so it snaps your camera angle back. Another is disabling the camera limitations and just zooming far away from your avatar, and then panning back.

Dunno. May just mean we have crappy computers :p

Morgana, this probably isn't a bug but your computer. I get this too - have done from Day One. My Mac just met the minimum rquirements when I joined and I dread each update. What are your specs?

It helps to turn draw distance down to 64Mb, turn off local lighting and set terrain detail to low. Disappointing, I know, but you can still function in SL.

When it gets too bad I log off and clear my cache. I don't use the clear cache option in Prefs but delete it from Library/Application Support (don't know where it is on a PC I'm afraid).

If you're in the middle of something and don't want to relog, go into the Client menu try unchecking a few things in Rendering - Types. You can bring up the Client menu by pressing ctrl+alt+shift+D.

Hope this helps

Oh my, wow, ty all.
My local lights, were about the only thing on..
I turned those off, I'll try the other ideas.
I checked the site, and the only thing that needed to be upgraded, which was done, was my ram..
As for my nasty pc, I don't doubt it.
My fiancee, is getting, or rather, is sending me a new one..
I just never had this problem, til yesterday..lol

for a PC it's C:/documents and settings/<Your computer name>/Application data/second life/cache

empty the cache folder

Ello luvs, well ty for your help.. It turns out, it may have beena bad update on my pc because, it started to cause problems, with my other programs, like my broadcaster.
SO...
We wiped my paritioner.
Completely, and I'm starting from scratch.
I am not upgrading the card, since as Shawn says, I'm not going to be using this pc for much longer, and my kids, will not need a more advanced system, to play yahtz.

So, ty all for your help, and funny comments..

Wish me luck with my bare basics..
lol
