I've been gone from SL for a few months, so I missed a lot... what's up with Copybots? I've noticed those *annoying* Cobybot Killers at nearly every store in SL. What were copybots and why did they merit is a wide-spread deployment of annoying "!quit" spambots?

The copybot was a peice of software that could duplicate objects and avatars.
The deal with "!quit" is that it logs off any first revision copybot. Of course every later revision of the software had the "!quit" feature removed.

So at this point people who send "!quit" are just sending spam.

I refuse to shop at any store that utilizes such primitive means. I find it insulting that i should be treated like a criminal.

Oh, no. Don't start the copybot debate again.
Those copybot killers don't work. Just a waste of resources, but don't tell the person who put it out that. Then you would be label a copybot supporter and support stealing and all kinds of names.

Iquit messages are still around bit annoying but there been rash of annoying particle attacks by griefers and few other mass mailing of griefornaments that I truely find more annoying and objects that I have bought over last month and half that quit working due to either owners quit or owner name disappearing due to copybot or whatever unknown bug.
If you're computer processor is over 3000ghz the particle attacks from what I have been told are don't make you crash unfortunately I got only 2533ghz pentinum processor so the particle attacks really effect me

I figured the !quit was a kill command... it's just like irc bots.
i'm not trying to start a debate or anything. As I said, I've been gone for several MONTHS, so I missed a lot.
