I'm an absolute novice to using PayPal, but several tenants have expressed an interest in using PayPal to pay rent.
From what I can tell, using PayPal will reveal the registered real name to both parties, which might not be desirable.
Is there a method of using PayPal anonymously that is permissible?
Since I'm new to PayPal, are there other issues I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance,

The name that shows on my paypal account is actually an abbreviation of the name on my bank account and card. Not sure how paypal would take it if you set up a false name that had no relation to your own, but then you can set up a paypal account under a business name.
This will protect your name from being seen, and your residents would then have a choice of using paypal or not.
BTW, I have received a couple of payments from someone with a blatantly false name on his account, and paypal don't seem to have noticed.

That's always an option.
On the other hand, I probably ought to read the fine print of PayPal as well, because it'd be a little bit sad if they had some stipulation hidden away, like "Use of a fraudulent name allows us to take your entire balance, sell your email address, and take your first-born."

I probably put too much twaddle round the main point there (not long been up, flu season, forgot to do the magic dance of logic last night) From: someone but then you can set up a paypal account under a business name. Just done some quick checking, this is probably what you are after: From: someone About PayPal Business Accounts
Upgrade to a PayPal Business Account and enjoy all the benefits PayPal has to offer as you gain access to PayPal's comprehensive payment features. You can send money to anyone with an email address AND receive any type of payment, including credit card payments, for a low fee, add additional users to your account, and accept payments under your business name. Upgrade to your Business Account today!

Wouldn't want them to take the beasts from you Ged.

Being paid in paypal is a pain when you're paying tier to LL. It's easier by far to take L$ and then LindeX them so you have the tier in USD on your SL account.
Anyone who has paypal can buy the L$ anyway. Besides the privacy/increased costs for business paypal account, having it show as income when you're not making anything off it, could be a tax headache you have to take on just to make things convenient for someone else.
