It isn't possible. On a private island, the owner of the island can change where the water level sits, but that affects the entire island.

Hi Robin, I'm not an expert on island landscaping but I'm fairly certain you must be near sea level and hence when you dig below you will have water. I don't believe you can have dry land below sea level unlike RL.
Is your plot large enough that you can make it a small hill? |

As far as I am aware, that naturally occuring water below sea level cannot be removed without turning off your water effects entirely.

Another idea is to just ignore the water. Dig deeper, put your basement in. Maybe put a floor at sea level to hide the ripples.
Under water it is darker, and sound does not travel as far. Just like the real basement. |

On a positive note, you now have a nifty basement swimming pool

you could also build your land HIGHER.. raising up all the other land so that your basement isn't underwater.
Or, you could just do without a basement. _____________________

As far as I am aware, that naturally occuring water below sea level cannot be removed without turning off your water effects entirely. Oh, I dunno - I still find that sometimes just teleporting back to my home sim hides the water quite nicely until I can be bothered doing the estate-workaround thingy ![]() As the clever people said, not much you can do about it on the mainland (EDIT: Or land where you don't have much in the way of terraforming rights). Either try making a hill, 'fake' the land and have your basement at ground level under land textured prims, or (and that was a pretty cool one actually) - ignore it, and pretend the weird light was intentional to create a moody atmosphere. Or if it's just a small pool in the floor, take your friends basement fishing, or build a well around it and tell folk that's where you keep the bodies of those who... well, you get the idea. |

Another idea is building the basement high *above* the house, then have a door leading to the basement as teleporter.
