Hi - before i do my bit again for the continuance of SL capitalism via another spending spree :) I'm wondering what the homemakers here would regard as essential, must-have items to stock a home from new? It's for a new space for a new person. Thanks! Tasha.

the starter furniture set i sell that goes with my starter home

home is either 12 or 15 prims depending on which one

the furniture..10 pieces 82 prims

Bed
Coffee Table
Divider
End Table
End Table Lamp
Kick Back Chair
Night Stand
Night Stand Lamp
Sofa
armoire with working tv

poses in te sofa...chair and bed

but im biased i made this set so people on low prim allowances could get the most for a small amount of prims and a good price

can see it at: http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=146213 or on display at my main shop

Potted plants! You can have fun building your own pots and find nice plants to put in them, or find plants already potted.

My house has for furniture only a few benches, some potted plants, and a small table with a cup of steaming tea sitting on it that I received at the Zen Center. :)

Lilith Heart makes the best plants and trees. J33bus Carlos makes SL's most gorgeous furniture. It's more like art you can sit and lie on.

Tyci, that's awesome. I'll be glad to recommend something like that to my tenants.

Not completely unbiased, because I have a small store with low prim home and garden stuff too. ;)

But I would pick:
1. A living room set. You want places to sit around and be cozy with your pals.
2. A fireplace gives the place a nice homey touch.
3. A bed. Even though avatars don't sleep, there's other things to do in beds.
4. Plants!! I'm a big fan of green space.
5. A hot tub - there's just something really nice about sitting in a hot tub and watching the sunset. I have a nice freebie one with pose balls and a waterfall out at my annex store in Quat - just look up Annabelle's in search. I put it out on display there because I saw someone selling the same one at a yard sale for $300 and I got pissed off.

I tend to be a minamalist when it comes to SL furnishings, so my list is:

1 really nice couch with several poses for just hanging around.

1 hammock for relaxing

3 plants for atmosphere
