Normally when one of my objects sends a message and it goes to my email it includes location information like this: Object Details: Region: SomeRegion Position: { 150.288, 171.297, 138.013 } Owner: Nepenthes Ixchel Slurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/SomeRegion/150/171/138
But now I'm getting messages like the following: The object 'Object' has sent you a message from Second Life: í*¿
Object Details: Region: (unknown) Position: { 0, 0, 0 } Owner: Nepenthes Ixchel
There is a sequence of these messages, about a dozen at once. The good news: I know which script does it. It's a Unicode support testing script from when I was trying to get Japanese text working, placed in a plywood cube and set to whisper me a sequence of strings when the cube is rezed or touched. The bad news is I deleted that cube from in-world months ago. Or so I thought... I'm getting this spam burst about once a week. I only just noticed this because I've had object originating messages auto-archives by my mail, but now I'm starting to be logged into SL for extended periods again. The location information in the mail is obviously no good, so how can I go about tracking down this box? Can the object string in the email I get be used in any way to trace this? How many 0.5x0.5x0.5 plywood cubes called 'Object' are there in SL?

Don't count on the address xxxo.o.o being no good..it's the default place to rezz the unrezzable..( i.e. some things that fail to rezz first time end up here )..it's just possible that a copy of the cube you rezzed a while back still exists here..my advice is to go check those co-ordinates and see if your object lurks there. Hope this helps. Regards.

0,0,0... of which sim?
All I can rmember is I was chatting to other people at the time in a public place which is why I used whisper instead of say. (I use say on channel 0 normally when on my own working on such a project)

You mentioned whisper and say but the object is using llInstantMessage to send you IMs that are being sent to email, right?
You might try wearing a scripted object that scans for objects in its range that belong to you.
You might try posting a message on the libsecondlife.org forums and see if they have something that can indentify where the object is.
Do you get the messages when you are online?
If you remember who you were talking to at the time you mentioned then maybe they would remember what sim they were at.
