Deleting landmarks in the Map view

I keep getting repeptitive landmarks in Map view from freebie places I have visited. (Probably 1 per item). Is there any way to delete? I've tried "clear" and highlighting with "delete" but nothing works. Please!!! Help!!!!!

I had the same problem before the nice folks here clued me in.
What is in your map landmarks reflects what is in your inventory. You probably have tons of landmarks hidden in folders and such. Go to your inventory and type in one of the duplicates in the search field and see what comes up. Delete the extra ones and you're good to go.

Thanks so much! I was going crazy! I've just discovered the search tool in my inventory and it is a life saver since I am a "packrat"!

That .. *and* .. the Open Window under File to open a second inventory for moving stuff!!

You can also filter items in your inventory to only find the landmarks, which makes it very easy to delete them. I had the same problem until I saw it another forum. I'm not inworld at the moment, so not sure of the exact steps, but I know that you filter, uncheck everything except landmarks, and it will only show any and all landmarks in your inventory. If someone else doesn't know the exact steps, you can try sending me an IM and I will reply to you once I'm logged in later tonight. BTW, I'm on US eastern standard time, so I mean tonight based on about 9 p.m. eastern time.

Under the Inventory File menu, select Show Filters, then you can select only landmarks to find all of them in your inventory easily!
