Hello Everyone!

I joined Second Life sometime in the middle of last year...
When I started up, I wanted to design and build... And I was taken to a place that seemed like it was up in the sky... And there was a teacher there that showed the very basics of making different shapes and what not...

I quit Second Life for a few months and just last week got back into it... And I would still like to design, I would like to go back to that place, but don't know where it was being that someone ported me...

Anyone know of anything like the place I described...?

Maybe another place to go?
I want to build, but want to start at the most basic class that I can...

Any help is appreciated :D

Do a search for NCI, TUI and ASA..they all do good building classes...or look under Events/Education...that will show all the classes available.

Have fun, the classes are great.

The Ivory Tower Prim Library has self-guided tutorials set up. Very handy.

Definatly, best building tutorial in game IMO. I learnt from the guides there and never looked back.

It made your neck hurt *that* much? ;)

I gotta go to the tower. I keep promising myself. I just keep getting distracted.
I rezzed a tall, thin pyramid on my chum's sandy island last night. I 'tiled' it in roof tiles and made a dark, bronze cross for the top. I called it my 'buried church' .. well it made a couple of us laugh :)

That's a doughnut, not a ring of stones.

Getting back to a serious answer for the original poster, you want to do a search for "Sandbox", and find a publicly-available place to do temporary building practice. Sandboxes ate wiped every few hours, so make sure you keep copies of your work in progress.

The reference to "NCI" meant the New Citizen's Institute. They specialize in getting new people started out right, teaching classes and diretcing them to proper resources. Another place like that is The Shelter.

Welcome to SL, and good luck in your building!
