For some reason I no longer get the message "user not online meassage saved bla bla" when I IM an offline user. Does anyone know if there is a setting if switched that could cause that? Ive looked everywhere and don't see one. I do however get the blue pop up that User not online inventory has been saved when i send someone something and they are off. This happens across several PC's and I have dumped cache, uninstalled and reinstalled SL. Any ideas?

hmmmm
so you sent a gift AND IM'd them AT THE SAME TIME, and IM does not say they are offline, but the gift message does? IM message not showing offline is because they are online, and hiding. the gifting message is probably most accurate. _____________________

Mliss... try IM'ing me. I'm most certainly off line so it might test 3Rings theory that your person is inworld and hiding.

Ive Im'd alts and friends that i know for certain are offline. I too at first wondered if i smelled bad and people were just en masse' hiding from me. It is not the case though.

I've gotten the same error; I'll send someone an object and I get the "person is offline, object saved in inventory" or whatever message, then if I IM the person, I don't get an offline message. Just started this week. I've created this issue in JIRA: vote for it if you've noticed this bug.

This seems to be only happening on this accnt, i can be on an alt on the very same PC and send someone offline a message, and i get the ...is offline tagline. Very odd indeed.

I found out what the problem was, I had "Second Life" muted in my mute list. I had a radar scanner once that that I would get messages from Second Life on when its probe bumped into banwalls so i muted Second Life by name. Thats the same name that kicks back the : user is not online message.

I've IM'd someone who's shown as not online and gotten the "user not online" thing. I get an answer a few seconds later that contridicts that message and the user is, infact, online..............so if the user is "hiding" from you you do get the message.
