With all the repeat threads with the exact same questions, I thought I'd save time and help new people on how to do a search within Resident Answers only.
Choose several keywords of what you are looking for.
For example:
If you are looking for information on where to get hair, you could use hair store.
Go to Search and choose Advanced Search, where you will see the multiple forums on the bottom right corner. Highlight Resident Answers then in the Key Word field, enter hair store.
Click on search now. While it will return some erroneous threads, on the first page as of this posting, there are three very helpful threads and the title is of the thread is aptly named.
If you are looking for info on a specific item, type in the item in the Keyword field, such as dolphin, Xcite, camp, etc.
If you are getting too many threads, you can also try to add in quotation marks around a popular phrase that might grab attention. (thanks Gillian for bringing that to my attention!)
Example:
If you are looking for info on Last name change, it gives quite a few threads. If you type in "last name change" in the search, the threads are narrowed quite considerably. Same for camp.. if you are looking for places, you might try "camping places", "camping chairs", etc.
Hopefully, this can get your answers to you faster than waiting on a resident response!
Happy searching!

So so true. So many of the same topics, and all they have to do is search. The option is right there in front of them too.

Well, I'm hoping that the main reason is because they don't know how to search.

I find vBulletin search to be poor actually. I have been searching for threads on if/how I can ever change (or hyphenate) my last name to no avail. I am certain it's been discussed before. I may be doing something wrong but I keep getting messages that say "no results" or "string too common" etc.

That issue is documented in several Linden places, I know there's some in thier answers. Type in "last name change". (With the quotes) And leave the forum open, don't select a specific one.
