I am fairly new to CS2, and have been trying to create Flexi Transparent Hair Textures. I attempted to follow Natalia's instructions for Creating Flexi Hair Texture http://slnatalia.blogspot.com/2007/02/day-142-creating-prim-hair-part-4-flexi.html

but something keeps going wrong. If I follow her instructions exactly, the uploaded file has no transparency whatsoever, and if I do not click the 'eye' in 'Layer 2' it will upload to SL with the transparent ends, however the tops of the prims become almost see-through, depending on my camera angle. They seem to blur together, and at times I can see the prim, other angles I see right through it to the prims below. Makes for pretty ugly hair texture!

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I think that sounds like the normal alpha-sorting bug. If you put multiple alpha (transparent) textures on top of each other, SL can't tell which one should be rendered on top. (Apparently this is not just an SL bug, but I don't know much beyond that.)

You can see this a lot by camera-ing around three-prim trees, and I've heard that using alpha textures in hair also causes this -- even saw it mentioned in a recent Linden Lifestyles post!
