Well, may as well mention this here, who knows. For about three days, I boot next door, and cannot TP back home either, always end-up next door (neighbors). I have tried different spots (x,y.z), no difference, this is really annoying, especially when you have three spots (TP points) none of them work. Yes, contacted/bug reported LL, email support... still nothing, I have to use flight pack 24/7, not funny This happened suddenly, on the same version of SL, so I know that I haven't done anything wrong. Anyone with the same problem? Tx BTW: yes, my account is still valid/active

Can you teleport anywhere else successfully as you have done before? What about landmarks? Have you tried those? Oh yeah, what about standing on your land and redeclaring it your home? I think if you open the map, there will be a teleport home button. (Top right corner?)

From: Gaybot Foxley Can you teleport anywhere else successfully as you have done before? What about landmarks? Have you tried those? Oh yeah, what about standing on your land and redeclaring it your home? I think if you open the map, there will be a teleport home button. (Top right corner?) I can TP elsewhere yes, but my own LM (to my home) won't work anymore, I have replaced the "set home" too (created new LM as well), I have tried loads... As I said it just happened like that, for no obvious reason. No, the "banlines" are not the answer to the problem either. It's very annoying and weird, it feels more like an obvious bug than anything else. But again, for three days now.. still waiting for an answer or fix.

From: Gina Jacks No, the "banlines" are not the answer to the problem either. Winter, I think she did answer your question. Precisely what that means is open to question.........but it seems she investigated the ban line issue. But I fail to see ban lines as an issue anyway....she owns or has rights to the land so that is a non issue. Unless, of course, it is a bug. And with LL's record the bug issue is more likely than ban lines.

I have found that banlines, if set, will not allow landmarks and landing points to work ABOVE the banlines. So if the banlines are turned on on the ground, but "home (not neccesarily the "HOME" point)... is in a skybox above the banlines.. the avatar can manually fly into the skybox, but cannot teleport into it... regardless of LMs or Landing points. Her statement that she must use a flight pack, FURTHER points out that the "home" in question is quite possibly in the sky. While you may "assume" that she owns the land.. She's not stated that she does. In fact, she's only called it "home" but states that she's trying to use landmarks to enter. (therefore not having her home point SET. ) When asked if banlines are set, she says "No, the "banlines" are not the answer to the problem either. "..l note the phrasing... "the banlines are not the problem".. not "there are no banlines"... indicating that quite possibly there *ARE* banlines active on the land below. It's quite possible that she's been allowed to set up or use a skybox above someone else's land (rental?).. and that the access list below excludes her from entry. (you can stay on my couch, but I'm locking my bedroom door" . She may have all rights to build on the land, or whatnot, but she may not be "allowed" to enter the lower section, and her landlord may not be aware that she also can't TP into her "home"

Solved

I do own the place, I wouldn't call/set it home otherwise To be more precise, there were no banlines, so these were not the problem. The LMs were my own, made to test different levels, to see if there was an issue there. Anyway, the fix was much simpler than I though, it's all fine now, posting to acknowledge you that it's all back to normal. First, thanks so much for your help and advice, much appreciated, these are my first posts and I am very pleased to see that we can get hep from the members. Basically, I set my Landing Point to "Blocked", I didn't know that it would block me as well! Then I forgot about it... In case your are wondering (I do have security enabled), unfortunately, loads of problems with ALTs and stalkers. Hence wanted to block it... That's about it

I discovered the banline when wanting to build a store and a home on the same land. I figured it would be easy to build the home on the ground, and erect banl;ines, and then the store in the air. I was frustrated no end to find that no one would be able to TP into the store.. even with a landing point set.
Definitely glad you worked it out.. and if I helped at all.. I'm glad.. even if I was off base.

To make sure I understand the "banlines"
04-01-2007 17:29
Well, I said there weren't any, so it couldn't have been the problem... But reading your reply, it looks like I did not understand what it meant. (although, it wasn't the problem) Is it different from setting up "ban avatars" in "about land"? If so, I'd be interested to learn something new, who knows, it might help in the future. btw: I am not a scripter and know very little about it. So, unless there is an already made script out there (if it requires one), I wouldn't be able to benefit much from you reply Tx
