Can't Play SL till problems are solved. Rainbow Flickering?!

Welp, for nearly a 3 weeks or more now, I haven't been able to be on SL more than 5 min. without a blue screen of death or a frozen comp. It all began when I was playing Blackjack and noticed a flickering on SL which was almost a rainbow colored flicker. Just last week I had my comp reformatted thinking maybe that would be something to fix it. Well, it did not. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks.

The most likely cause of this problem is that you need to update your graphics drivers. My SL tenant reported the same issue, and it was fixed as soon as she updated.

Under Edit / Preferences, Adv Graphics, uncheck "Enable OpenGL VBO".

Making sure you have the latest drivers installed could help, but there have been a lot of people who tried that and still run into the issue. The above suggestion tends to work in nearly all cases.

(Alternatively, Edit / Preferences, Graphics Detail and setting lighting to "Sun and Moon Only" is another thing to try if none of the above works)

On the ADV Graphics tab under preferences, turn off the "Enable VBO". That solved the rainbow problem for me.

Graphics card drivers fer sure..Seach your card and update..I'm still runnin' a 440mx with the latest drivers.Regards

I was advised to do so for the same problem from these fine people and haven't had the problem since. There must be something to it.

Request a link to the old version of sl in the live chat help in game. Lindens will give you the link. The update that broke the sl graphics was optional, simply downloading the older version is an easy fix until they get it straightened out. That's what I did.
