clothing not displaying

Everytime i log into SL my clothing aint displaying properly, the clothing is a visual representation of a screen shot of my PC screen.

Try this: Go to Edit, then Preferences, then Network, then click Clear Network Cache. Logout and come back. Usually does the trick.

OK, do you have the latest drivers for your video card and motherboard installed ? Have you tried reinstalling SL ?

Hopefully this is solvable and not some kind of bug unique to your configuration.

i think it been since the latest upgrade in SL.
EVERTHING ELSE IS FINE.

You may want to post your hardware configuration. I'm also assuming that you've thoroughly scanned for viruses and spyware. Good luck to you.

Are you using a laptop ? Also, which version of SL are you using, the official one or Windlight ?

Sorry Elaine, I don't quite get what you mean about your clothing being a screenshot?
Other than clearing cache, have you tried toggling your 'edit appearance' and/or going to your Client tab if showing and character\rebake textures?

I think I know what you mean... I've had occasions before when clothing textures randomly, and quickly, flip between various textures that are being displayed in the current view, and seemingly random patterns.

I've tended to just log out and back in and it's cleared it - but I have no idea what it is that causes it.

Just thought I'd mention it in case it gave someone a lightbulb over their head.

yeah its really annoying and not giving in, i have logged in many times and still the same, also cleared cache, tried to remove clothing and put back on avatar.
she still walks around with a screen shot as her clothing material.

Are you able to submit a Support ticket ?

Does this happen with all clothes Elaine?
How about dragging an avatar from your library? Does it happen to them also?

when i right click on my avatar to change appearence her clothes display properly.
But when she goes back to normal mode it returns.
and clothes dont update when i wear them.

Exactly what kind of video card do you have ? I know occasionally some video cards don't work well with SL.

Elaine previously posted she uses an nVidia Quadro. From http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php almost the bottom line says it isn't tested and compatibility is not certain

it has been working for a few weeks then gone,

then if not already pursued, I'd take the update driver path.

Also, I'd make sure to run Windows XP SP2 fully patched or another operating system like Mac or Linux that has been proven compatible with SL. Vista apparently is problematic for a lot of people.

I have a friend that this has happened to as well. She can get ONE outfit to render, and thats it. Nothing else she tries to put on will show up.
