I occasionally come across some land designated as maintenance land. Does that mean it's going to remain undeveloped? It seems like there are some big areas of it.

I've been searching the forum and not finding much on this but if there's another thread that's already covered it, please fell free to just link me to it.

Thanks!

It is land that has been reclaimed or abandoned and will eventually go to auction.

Unless it is also listed as "Protected." Protected land will never(?) be sold.

They say that, but not all "protected" land stays protected. It is just really rare to get land unprotected.

Reclaimed abandoned land doesn't always go to auction, but probably the less said about that the better...
