Please if anyone is aware of a clinic in SL that has diagnosed and produced a cure for this drop me a landmark. Everytime this happens my stomach gets weak and I get the willies. It happened to me twice today and I swear I had to log off because I felt like I was going to throw up. I'm seriously considering going to wash my hair now because I'v got a bad case of the heebeejeebee's!!! I log in and things are just fine...then I get this funny tingling sensation in my scalp: Then it happens, these wierd grey funky nasty things pop up on my head for no reason at all and are gross to look at! I just have to wait until it goes away or log off and try later. Other people can see it because I sometimes see it on other people. Then....it magically disappears after I pray to the SL Gods. It may come right back and it may not. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Is there a scientific name for this? Is there a cure? Maybe some tonic I can rub in my hair to stop it? Please somebody, anybbody!!!! Help!!!!!! Thanks, Maddy |

I forgot to add that even if I remove my hair and am bald (no I do not do this regularly) it still happens.

Well at least your hair is still on your head, on several occassions I have teleported and landed in crowded places with my hair attached to my butt! On a couple of occassions I have found my shoes lodged in my butt too. This never happens if I go home to an empty house, it has to do it when there are plenty of witnesses  |

lol. Those pictures are amusing. It appears your avatar has a chronic case of unrezcorruptcachetexturitis. While persistent, it may prove not to be fatal. Have you cleared your cache? You might have a corrupted texture for your avatar in it. It kind of looks like Ruth hair (default avatar hair). My avatar turns into the default avatar sometimes, and relogging usually fixes that. Does anything else around you ever appear to be gray/unrezzed?

Well, it could be your video card. Is it up to par with the suggested system requirements? Have you updated your video card driver lately? Who knows...it could just be occasional lag.

Who knows...it could just be occasional lag. Yes. I have just installed a new one yesterday actually (From 128 to 256). But it happens on my laptop too so I don't think that's what it is. I am guessing it's some wierd freak of nature, but I hope a Linden can explain to confirm. |

Are you using the First Look client by chance? I was using the latest one today and only about 1/3 of the prims in my hair were visible. Have not yet had the big gray cooties like you got tho. |

Looks a bit like the default hair with an unrezzed texture? Maybe you could try a different "bald head" hair? I made one that made the hair as small as possible, then I put a total-alpha texture on it too.

it looks like the one on your avatar uses a 100% alpha texture. so the hair is showing up as clear.. starts as grey, rezzes the trans texture, then disappears.
That's just a guess.. but it looks like whoever made that bald wig, got lazy.. and rather than adjusting all the sliders to make the hair disappear into the head, they just slapped an alpha texture on and called it good enough.
That's what it LOOKS like from here anyways.

It's just your default Hair "Ruthing" without a texture. It's a Minor Bug, Ignore it, it goes away by it's self.

That's what it LOOKS like from here anyways. I tried this and that's EXACTLY what it was. I removed that clear texture from the hair in my appearance and that junk showed up...all white since I was fully rezzed. I moved the sliders down and now it's gone. I feel so much better! The willies are going away slowly now and I can proudly say I am cured of the cooties! Woot! Thank you Dr. Ventura! |
