Sigh, what am I doing wrong? (Region Estate help)

I have checked off to BLOCK TERRAFORMING in the region estate menu.

It states that even though a land owner (And I assume officer of group land is deeded to?) has these powers active, it won`t work.



Well one of the folks who rents land on our sim has managed to terraform his plot (Not anything drastic thank god) and i`m at a loss how this was possible as I do have "block terrform" in the region/estate menu checked; am I skipping a step or is this a bug?


Inquired with live help twice and went ignored as usual, so IMd a linden directly and went ignored. (Figured it could be of importance because im wondering, if i did everything right and they are able to terraform what else are they capable of? Other things on the "block terraforming" list include things such as making sure people can not sell your land, etc...)

For Group Roles to have thier abilities set on land, the land in question needs to be set to the Group and Deeded to the group.

The Region/Estate tool and About Land tools work seperately, but I believe Region/Estate overrides the About Land. So if Terraforming is off in Region/Estate, then only the land owner can edit.

I'm a bit unsure on the protocals LL uses for Region/Esate to About LAnd, however, so some playing with those settings to see what happens may be a good idea.

Try F1 and look up Land if you haven't already. It's all Live Help will tell you to do anyway *smirks*

I`m not in world but i believe thats what it said- that if i check "block terraforming" it will override what the "about land" is set to..so if they have about land checked to terraform/are group officer of the deeded land.......and i have it blocked in region/estate they should not be able to.

Are your rented plots set to another group ? This may be a possibility. Not sure though, I thought the Region/Estate tools were the trump card. I'll be watching this thread with interest.

Yep, this is my commercial sim where i have plots and deed the group to what the renter wants and they have full control of the land......... i thought it was to an extent (what i allowed/disallowed via region estate)...... I think something is just screwed up. Thats why this is of concern to me..............Sure they terraformed i can just revert but what if the other options in region/estate arent working and someone sells my land?


I really think we need some conceirge people that are able to give some quick(er) responses inworld to help with things like this.

This person is not an estate manager is he/she? As far as I know, 'Block Terraform' in Estate tools should prevent anyone but the Estate owner and Estate managers from editing land. Sounds like a bug.

KiKi is an estates manager however and she couldnt terraform until land was deeded to group..is *that*normal?? As an estate manager, i would think she`d be able to.

No, that not normal. Estate managers should have the ability to terraform.

Also double-check that the renter really did terraform, or simply used prims to simulate the effect.

I'd save the terrain file as a precaution. If it happens again, you can easily restore the current terrain by uploading the terrain.raw file.

Just wanted to say we have 4 sims under us so were not noobs when it comes to how things typically work.


I was pretty positive they should not of been able to terraform when I have that blocked in region/estate... I know i can just upload the saved raw file but if its a bug it should be fixed, my main concern was- if this isnt working, what else isnt (eg can they sell my land even though I have that blocked as well...)
