OK, might as well be up-front. This isn't a question. I just wanted to post something positive.

Nicholaz Beresford, author of the Nicholaz open source viewer is probably the SL resident I admire most. What he has done with the Nicholaz viewer is remarkable, what he has contributed to improvements in the main SL viewer, and hence the experience of all SL residents, is nothing short of awesome, and that isn't an epithet I often use. And most SL residents have undoubtedly never heard of him. So when he speaks on the subject of the viewer, and its code, I listen.

That said, I'd like to recommend you all to read some of the latest entries on his blog, in particular "Telltale Indicators" at

<http://nicholaz-beresford.blogspot.com/2007/07/telltale-indicators.html>

It's a view on the technology of SL that I haven't thought about before, and presents a take on SL and Linden Labs that, I think, puts a lot of our gripes into some sort of perspective.

That's it. Sorry for the positivity (the result of a couple of shots of single malt). Carry on bitching.

And get in before the lock!

HI Suzi!

Nice to see something positive and I totally agree. Anyone would be lucky to get to know him and his patience he has with people.

This should be an "SL person I admire most" thread! That would be nice to have something positive in light of all the negativity that goes on.

I admire Arikinui Adria. Amazing person, friend, designer, owner and I just cannot say enough good about her!

I totally agree with you 10000% about Nicholaz. Thanks for posting something good!

You might consider voting for him in the "Open Source contributor of the Year" category (https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-397 for his specific nomination) as well :).

I wish I could vote for him more than once. I hope and pray with every Linden update that Nicholaz with come up with an alternative viewer ... and he does! To my eternal gratitude.
