As far as I understood the rules, PG sims were "family oriented" No sexual items on them. Am I right? In mature, you could have whatever and sell whatever.
With this in mind I looked for a parcel in mainland rated PG to open a Kids furniture store.
Now a couple of people opened next door a place with genitals for sale, really nice, with very explicit pictures on how they move and the piercings on them. The other one is a really nice club with dozens of camping dancing pads and beautiful neon lights with the shape of a woman light in clothes or almost naked, as you wish to say it. Not only that, they have a wonderful exploder that shouts each 300 seconds for one minute spamming all screens. Dont want to leave out of the description the nice multicoloured particles and lights that go out of the place.
The sim, one of the new ones in the new continent is a class 5, or like that was sold, but the lag caused by those 2 people is so bad that you crash, yes, all the sim is worthless thanks to them. They had the land for sale this morning, so what I think is that they really dont want to keep the businesses but force neighbors to buy their land at whatever price they set.
I talked to the owner of the club and asked him to remove all the mature things he had because it is a PG sim, he answered that PG meant it is commercial!! when I explained what PG is, he said he would move nothing till a Linden went to tell him to.
I filed a report thinking that with the new system Lindens would go and see what is going on. Nothing happened except I got an automated response (e mails) and that the club owner is not selling the land anymore.
I read some thread saying that the ARs are really been seen and fixed very soon, but so far my reports are sleeping in some table without being addressed.
Will this be the same way the age verification work? If they cant take actions now with only 2 ratings, what will happen when they're swamped with ARs from people with adult content in a mature sim? (that is much more subtle than PG/Mature)
Do you think I could do something else? Do I need to sell my land and move to another place and hope the neighbors do know that PG is not a commercial rating? Should I hope Lindens do something or is that kind of expecting Santa Claus will leave me something under my tree next Christmas?

You should tell the owner of the club, or I can, that "PG Areas are designated to be free from sexually explicit language or behavior, swearing and other forms of aggressive language, violent behavior and/or imagery, including horror." And for mature areas, "In Mature regions, Residents can be free to engage in more adult activity and language, though of course, explicit adult content must be contained behind “closed doors”.

Give it 5 days. LL gets a lot of ARs and has a queue of them to wade through.
If your problem is not resolved in about a week, try emailing "inworldsupport@secondlife.com", stating the EXACT location of the adult objects, and EXACTLY why you are complaining about them (mature content, PG region, lagging my sim badly with this club). _____________________

I'd AR every few days... make sure to include a snapshot of the most offensive stuff.
Try a message like: "Explicitly pornographic business built and advertized in a PG sim" Which very clearly states that: 1) it is a legitimate problem and likely uncontestable, and 2) that it isn't going to resolve itself on it's own, and 3) that there will be more AR's on this issue if it's not taken care of. If anyone does filter through AR's for "easy tasks" this will stand out as a slam-dunk and increase the chance of it getting resolved quickly. The more we can do to help those that help us, the more likely we are to get help.  |

Have some friends come over and file AR's too. I haven't had much luck with filing AR's on my own - one tiny one in a sea of raunchiness can easily get pushed to the back of a queue - but from what I understand, if they get a lot of AR's about the same thing, they'll take action more swiftly because they can see a pattern.

There are several sims dedicated to 'kids' in SL that have nothing to do with sexual age play. Just because someone choses to play a child, doesn't mean they are part of the seedy side of it. _____________________

What was banned was people passing real-world pedophile pics - PHOTOGRAPH of real kids, to each other via SL. It is perfectly legal and appropriate to sell children's furniture and playground equipment and other things like that in a PG sim, provided that the items don't contain sex animations. To answer the original poster, no, PG does not mean "Commercial". It means no adult-oriented content allowed, and BOTH those businesses should get AR'ed until they are forced to relocate to a Mature rated sim. _____________________

What was banned was people passing real-world pedophile pics - PHOTOGRAPH of real kids, to each other via SL. Go read the Linden Blog. They have banned people for ageplay now, NOT for trade of RL child porn. RL child porn has always been banned, and LL has always stated strongly that if any is pointed out to them they will do everything possible to remove it and aid RL prosecution of the people doing it. |

Thank you all for your responses. I'll just keep on waiting for LL to come and check this, I cant even tp there now, the sim is full all the time.
 To the person that made the remark about kids furniture in PG area.... well, there are many persons that for any reason need to relive their childhood in sl, and they deserve the same respect as you or me, and they have special needs, they're kids, so they use different furniture, size, poses, colors, etc. I think this is not being banned, this is no problem for LL as far as I understood, I think you should separate RL and SL. LL is making an age verification as they dont want REAL minors in the adults grid. An adult in RL can use a child av and have a second childhood as long as they dont engage in sexual ageplay. With that in mind, I think your comment was totally provocative. LL is providing different environments for different people. I have a SL family, I'm very much into family oriented activities. I respect other choices and that's why my store is not in a mature sim, I looked for a space where family orientation is supposed to be respected. Nothing adult related other then occasional curse words ever happens. I sometimes make nude statues. But I had some guy wonder upon my land with his pants of and big erection. I didn't know how to freeze, AR and eject hiim. There some people who think they can do anything they want because this is a Adult grid on any land anywhere especially mature even they are just vistors. Is this true? |

Freeze and eject only works for island owners, imho. As a mainland owner you won't have these options, but you can still file an abuse report. Although I wouldn't bother to report a single person only for running around naked. Banning him from your land should be enough. Even an IM to him in the lines of "please get dressed while you're on my land" might be sufficient. And it's not true that people can do anything on mature land. It's your land, you make the rules. If you want to ban people for wearing green shirts or having big noses, you can do that. Considerate people will only "misbehave" in places that are clearly intended for the purpose of (interactive) adult entertainment. I added "interactive" because even in a strip club it would be inappropriate for a guest to undress. |
