Once again, the grid turns a semi-cyncial oldbie (me) into a mooshie, emo crybaby - just absolutely humbled and stunned by the outpouring of generosity and effort by everyday grid residents.

$L 52 million as of this post for 2008 RFL - wow.

For anyone not involved in Relay for Life, I just have to say: try it. The rewards go far beyond money.

Skip a coupla mocha latte's or the Supersize Fries - and literally make yourself, and someone battling cancer feel better next year.

Team Caledon, you brought tears of joy to my eyes. As per our tradition, Erasmus Margulis our RFL captain will be Knighted soon for his tireless service, in recognition of an epic effort that of this writing, coodinated the generosity of hundreds of people and brought us to second place.

Regardless of standing, however, we are proud to just stand at all as one of the teams. Especially the small teams who put just as much spirit and heart into it - I suspect more people are cured due to early awareness, than money raised.

You rock, people.

Wow!! =) That's so awesome!

My Grandmother died from cancer (partly due to her nurse). My Mother has survived Skin Cancer, but my Dad's GF is currently at battles with Cancer (last I heard). Cancer runs in my family fiercly, so others are bound to pop up with it.

RFL is definately something I support! =)

$L 52 million is something like $L 52,000,000 / 265 which is in the neighbourhood of 196,000 USD, if I am not mistaken.

A lot of generous people out there on the grid, for a good cause.

C'mon you TV news gatherers/reporters. This IS newsworthy.
Your viewers will WANT to know that the virtual world has heart.
It's a large sum from a unique endeavor. Make it so!

Ooops sorry, you are right, sitting here with a store brand calculator without enough zeros.
