camera controls using cont - alt -arrow keys

I have used these controls without even thinking about it for ages.. suddenly I log on and go to a new angle and I can only use alt+arrows. control+alt+arrows goes up and down and i get the "DUHT!" sound that you get when you can't do something. Driving me insane. I can't move or see anything properly lol. Its weird tho, cause if i play with it a bit, I can make it work for a second.. then it goes back to "DUHT!"

everyone else getting that too? or is my keyboard dying or somethin?

When I close my chat bar now the ctrl alt arrow keys work to move the camera, when I open the chat bar, they don't.

Yup.

For me it's easier to use the Alt+mouse or Ctrl+mouse keys...if you can't find the mouse key..it's on your mouse; not on the keyboard. *smirk*

yeah my alt ws broken too, ive been using the camera control wheels.

Thank you for posting that. Same thing has happened to me after this update. I didn't know if it was SL or my keyboard either.

As Suezanne noted, closing the chat bar makes the keys work the way they did prior to the update, but that just isn't feasible in a lot of public situations. Someone has already reported it on JIRA, so please vote: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1223

Yesterday (Cant get in today)..ctrl+alt+ arrows allowed me to move left, right, and sometimes down. when i tried to zoom up it ressurrected chat from 15 minutes or so ago onto the chat bar.

I'm getting this too, since the update... it's really irritating, I use that shortcut all the time. I've already voted on it on the JIRA page, be sure and vote if you haven't already! Not sure about anyone else, but alt+control+up/down now seems to scroll through everything I've previously said in chat, which is also pretty annoying.

you know the strangest thing about this is.. probably about a year ago, this same problem came up, but it only occurred when you were "sitting" on something. now its happening standing or sitting. I addressed it with the sitting thing thing way back when, and it never got fixed as far as I know.

and... Livinda, I'm glad you know where your mouse is!! congratulations! I realize technology can be challenging sometimes these days. *smirk*

I've had camera issues, but not this one. With or without the chatbar, the camera controls work properly (that as they are) for me.

At least for now.

and yes.. .alt.cont.UP now scrolls thru my previous chat also when the chat window open. something screwed up some shortcut options somehow. I really hope they fix because I don't know how long it will take me to get use to constantly closing the chat to pan and zoom. I pan/zoom SO much.

I saw Livinda's smirking post about the mouse option, but the thing is, I have never done it that way, and once you are use to something its hard to change. I do the cnt.alt.arrow camera movement by reflex.. don't even think about it.
