How do I make my avatar run instead of walking?

Running all the time is stupid. It's one of the things that irk me as a roleplayer in Guild Wars. Characters are forced to always run around, even in towns and outposts. I do run occasionally but I do greatly prefer to walk the majority of the time. I only run when there is a very short distance I want to cover more quickly and where razing a mount or vehicle is impractical. Any significant distance such as to a distant neighboring sim I usually use my Chocobo or VTOL Jet, if neither of these will do I teleport or use Matrix flight.

Well depending on the game you don't have many options, I remember several RPG's where the distance of running was used as a way to slow down game progress by design. Which results in items that make you run faster being premium, and autorun in the general map direction + going afk pretty standard lol. RP'ing a 15 minute walk just does not appeal to the masses.

In SL, I abhor moving around too much due to lag and elastic banding. In RP I would be going "Oh no the earth swallowed me up", "Oh crap I overshot my walk.. and by god I am levitating into space!", or "I always thought my parents were mutants, and now it appears I was right as I have the innate power to walk through buildings and trap myself like a fly!".

I'll take a straight up teleport followed by a pee break while I rez anytime

I usually do it to amuse myself...sometimes running pell-mell through a shopping district (or wherever) in 4" heels just makes me giggle.
