Good Morning
I have done a search and cannot find the answer (might be because i am wording it wrong )
I have anight club and its larger then the area that is covered in normal chat range so some of the customers shout to be heard by there friends at a distance
The problem is i do not want to annoy my neighbors with the constant shouts and i also do not want to annoy the patrons to the club by telling them not to use the shout because they are to lazy to walk closer to the person they are chatting with
so what i am wondering
IS there a script or setting that will keep the shouts just to my property some kind of noise barrier maybe ? thank you in advance

You can't limit the range of spatial chat. It's 10-meters for Whispers; 20-meters for Says, and 100(96)-meters for Shouts.
However, the workaround is simple: Make your gathering place smaller so patrons inside are always within Say range of each other.

the button to limit spacialized sound is for sounds that are sitting out, like tv, radios, ambient sounds in items...say,shout,whisper is not part of that

i agree it would be nice to be able to keep shout on your land but there are times i use it to shout to a neighbor or friend on the island i live on
would be nice if in preferences you could chose to hear shouts or not, i am unsure whatit would take for this to work
i would love it if i could insulate my house so anything said in the house can only be heard if you are inside the house, and i would love it if i could make it so people could not camera angle into my house and sit on things to get in or even just look inside
if i want people inside i invite them or give them permission

Dragger, let me say a "Thank you," for the consideration about extra chat spam, in case your neighbors do not. Tis a rare club owner who concerns themselves with the welfare of their neighbors!
That being said, unfortunately LL has provided us with no way to limit the chat to our parcels, other than to move our builds up into the air by so many 'meters.' And yes, it's a hassle all around for those seeking a bit of privacy.
It seems rather odd that we can limit the sounds come from objects to our parcels, but we cannot limit our typed chatter. One would think that having type chatter coming from next door would be just as, if not more, annoying than the sounds during say a romantic moment or a business meeting.

That option is under About Land > Media tab It's meant to limit the sounds of objects that make noise, like waterfalls, slot machines, etc. Anything that plays or loops a sound file that can be heard as a sound effect in-world. My response was regarding text chatting in world.

i would suggest scripting a chat listener for each corner of the club that relays the chat to one another, but that could possibly violate the privacy act in TOS, since it's stated so broadly hehe.
