I tried downloading the latest version tonight 4 times and the download freezes every time before completing!
What can I do?
I have been away on business for the last 5 days and am anxious to meet up with my SL friends.

I had that once too.
After a number attempts, I logged in to my account on secondlife.com, went to the downloads-link and downloaded the latest version from there. I installed this straight over the exsisting SL-install and that worked.

I dl'd it from sl.com too but it hasnt helped so far. Been trying for 4 hrs to get it working..

You might be able to find a copy using the Shareaza filesharing system, named "Second Life 1-12-3-6 Setup.exe" .
I also seeded it using the Asureus bitTorrent client. I'm not sure if there's something more specific I need to tell you to find it than that.
I'm not sure who at LL needs to know about the problem downloading but it couldn't hurt to send an email to [email]support@secondlife.com[/email], so they at least Know something's wrong.
For a downloading through a browser problem one can always try refreshing the download page, clearing the browser cache, and restarting the browser. Also try a different browser if you have more than one available. Can't hurt.
