I am still pretty new here...about 3 weeks. I went crazy for a few days, buying a house and furniture. Now I have found a house and furniture I like better and want to sell the other stuff. How do I do it?

The key is the permissions you have on the items you have. Anything which doesn't say "no transfer" in your inventory, you can sell to someone else. If you want a place to do that, look up "yard sales" in the Find list.

For the mechanics,
1) Rez the item where you want to sell it. 2) Go into EDIT mode. 3) Enter the price you wish to sell the item for in the price field (located in the General tab. Check the MORE box if you don't see tabs in the Edit field) 4) Check the Sell field. 5) Also, check all the permission boxes you can at the bottom to allow the next owner as much freedom as you can. That's it. Though it should be noted that Copy items will always be in your inventory. You can still sell them, but unless you delete them, you always have them anyway. ~Jessy _____________________

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do. |

Welcome to SL
![]() Just wanted to mention that there are a couple of "gotchas" when it comes to selling stuff you no longer want. If your inventory is anything like mine, you may not remember where you got something and what you paid for it. Things that you may have picked up for free were generally intended by their creators as public service type items, available to help new players but not really intended for anyone to sell and profit from, aside as learning aids. Due to limitations of the current permissions system, it's not always possible for the original creator to make clear their intention, or for someone further down the ownership chain to tell what the intentions were. There are a number of people who make quite a living out of taking free stuff, maybe making a modification like a recolor, and then selling it for large profits. Particularly the stuff that was "free to copy." There are a lot of opinions both inWorld and in the forums about the reselling industry, with some coming down on the extreme of nothing should ever be resold, and others on the extreme of anything that can be sold should be .. despite the original creators' intentions. Im not here to espouse any one point of view. There are some very reputable people who take things they buy, and sell the same copy they bought. There are others who take a "free for anyone to copy" and slap a price tag on it. I mention all of this, not to dissuade you from selling items you bought that you no longer want. Rather to let you know where some of the rocks in the water are, so that you can navigate them successfully. Good luck, and again, welcome ![]() |

Thanks for all the info. You have been very helpful. But now my questions is where do I take it to sell? Can I just do it at my house? Also, how do I sell the house?...put it back in the box?

Put a pic of the house on the box you put it in...and a decription of the size price and prims on a notecard.
(the box doesnt have to be a square cube, it can be just a poster on a wall somewhere.) _____________________

You can now advertise yard sales at Sl-Forums
I would suggest selling anything you don't want (That you purchased) thats transferable via yard sales, There are a few places out that aloow you to set down items for 24 to 48 hours for free. The advertise via forums ect so other people know where abouts its at Nat _____________________
