How do you turn off this new 'Bug Reporting' thing?

After downloading the latest viewer today - when i logged in there was a blue pop up box saying that I had enabled the 'bug report - something' and that it can be disabled by pressing blah blah....

But I cannot tell whether I have it turned on or off - is there anywhere in the menus where you can select if this is turned on or off?

Thx!

It's telling you that you have enabled the client debug menu. It's not a big deal to keep open...it lets you do things like rebake your textures, turn on renderglow, disable camera constraints, test character, turn off things you don't want to render, etc.

Do you mean the Crash reports? You can do that in Edit/Preferences.

If it's the crash report, Brenda got you on that. If it's the debug menu? That thing is a major SL survival tool and quite frankly should be turned on by default.

Ever entered a scene that was so spammed with particles that you could hardly move? Well, theres a feature in there that lets you turn the annoying things off. Don't want trees swaying, kiss them bye!

I was surprised it brought up the blue box though. The debug menus are the first thing I 'adjust' into existence upon opening the client for the first time.

My guess is it's the debug menu because I got the same pop-up when I downloaded the optional viewer.

Same here, got it first time I logged on after the update. Of course, since I've had it turned on since shorty after I joined SL, it was just an annoying popup.

I also got a popup (about a minute later) the first time I clicked on a sculpted prim, telling me what a sculpted prim was. Duh, it was one of about twenty that I had created weeks ago!

Thankfully that was all.

Ditto on leaving the debug menu turned on. It doesn't affect anything at all with the way SL works for you, there is no need to turn it off. It just brings up menus filled with useful tools, that's all.

Thanks for the replies - but how do you actually switch it on / off ?

Ctl+Alt+D adds the CLIENT menu to your list of drop down menus at the top of your screen.

With it turned on you will see FILE EDIT VIEW WORLD TOOLS HELP CLIENT SERVER at the top of your screen.

With it turned off you do NOT SEE CLIENT in the menu list.

I have had it turned on ever since I discovered how to turn it on as it is very useful. You can turn off items to be rezzed (like trees and clouds) to reduce lag in high lag areas or rebake your character textures among other things.

It also adds the SERVER menu, but that menu is useless unless you're a Linden.
