Having trouble with group role titles

I created some new roles in my group in hopes of customizing the titles a bit. When I assign members to the new roles though, the title I created for those new roles doesn't appear. All the members are also in the role of "Everyone" and it doesn't let me uncheck that box, but I've left the area for that title blank. I've got everyone checked in the new roles and the title filled out, but still nothing. I know I'm missing something. I've searched and searched, and gone over all the options and I can't find out how to do it. Some help would be so appreciated!

The members of your group remain in both the default "Everyone" role and the new role you've assigned them. Their active role remains "Everyone" until they themselves change it (you can't do it for them).

Tell them to go into the floater box for the group (menu: Edit / Groups... / click on group name to select it / Info ) and change "My Active Title" (bottom right) from "Everyone" to the new role you've assigned to them.

Try going to the group General tab and changing "My Active Title"
