Woot! My 13-year-old teenage daughter is actually now in the TEEN grid after nearly two weeks of frustrating responses (and non-responses) from Support. The breakthrough came after giving up completely on the support ticket system, and stalking individual Lindens till one finally passed me to the right Man With The Answers.
It's amazing how one really great, exceptional, helpful, and especially =HUMAN= interaction, can completely overturn what was becoming a crushingly negative experience in SL.
Mees so happy =) THANK YOU again, Teeple!!
(And thank you, too, Blue, for helping me get to the right person ^_^ )

Teeple is the most helpful Linden I've ever met - on quite a few occasions he's been able and willing to help with stuff that other Lindens claim can't even be done.

Without wishing to appear brown-nosed -- which I am definitely NOT! (It's the secret of my downfall)....
I've had dealings with two Lindens on two little issues I had on land tidying, and both were efficient, fast and friendly. Probably most of them are like that, but they're trapped in the machine that is LL.

On several occasions it's been the same one I got, no names of course.

Well Brash - maybe you could share how you got the Teen account. I gave up trying to get my teenage daughter one a couple of months ago and I'm willing to try again.

Yeah that IS the flip side of the coin ... there is one person who shall remain nameless that if I had charge of training them would be learning some nice lessons re: you get further with honey than vinegar ... Thankfully I've not encountered her for a while (nuff said)

I've had dealings with two Lindens on two little issues I had on land tidying, and both were efficient, fast and friendly. Probably most of them are like that, but they're trapped in the machine that is LL. Amen. I have had a lot of good dealings with Lindens on a one-for-one base. Torley, Teeple, Frontier, Data, Brent, Harry, The list goes on logner than my memory (though that's not that big a feat *grins*). The PEOPLE at LL are great. I've rarely run into a Linden that's an $#%#$^, and when I do, I chalk it up to a bad day (we all have them). I imagine Philip would be pretty kewl to talk to as well outside of his capacity as the Head Cheeze. And though I am one of those vocal ones that constantly pushes against LL managment to better themselves, there are times when we need to step back and look at LL's side and what they see of us. Individually, we may be very nice people (I try to be), but how often does the community praise LL when they do things we like? I've seen a few times, but rare. Part of that is there is no good place to praise them. There's no Linden Appreciation Forum where we could post that. The other part comes from us *raises hand to be included in that "us"* constantly b*tching about the things that are wrong and need fixed. While we may be right, it would have to gt old at LL to here the same thing day after day after day.... My meandering point is that a little praise can feel good all around. Thanks to Teeple Linden for being there for Brash. *two thumbs up* And thanks to Brash for taking the time to remind us that there is good in LL. ~Jessy

individual lindens that roam around doing dmg control for their coding monkey`s are great to deal with in most cases (when not swamped with bugs for work overload)

That's wonderful! I'm glad you found someone to help you. Stalking Lindens is pretty difficult to do. They're a fast bunch! I've never met Teeple, but Blue helped me a lot in my first week. Friendly, courteous and didn't laugh at my obvious ineptness. Topping it off with a hot air balloon ride!
Sometimes it's nice to remember the newbie days

Yes, I've heard the Lindens are nice folks when you meet them. But I have never met one, let alone been able to find one when I needed to.

From: Jessica Elytis There's no Linden Appreciation Forum where we could post that. Is it just me, but do those blog posts that actually deserve a lot of praise most often wind up being the ones with the comments off? I know one of the possible problems with seeing LL has the individual human beings and it's because we are reduced to nothing more than mere numbers. As those numbers grew, we lost the one-on-one that we used to have with the Linden employees. We used to have daily reminders that they existed as humans, because we'd see them in the Welcome Areas or wandering the sandboxes. They could interact with us and we could ask questions, bring up issues and in general chat with them. It was a great time.. but time moves on and things change. I'll miss that ability, but it's impossible now. But even now, when I require a Linden, I have found the individuals to be great people... I just wish the company could be as great as the individuals!

lack of support
07-10-2007 09:12
Its great that you got help from a linden that you had to go out and track down. Its sad that in two weeks of effort working with support you got no support at all. This isnt an example of an sl success story, quite the reverse, it an example of the chaos at Linden Labs.
