Last night during a party I turned off AR on my land and allowed all resis to create objects. This morning I discovered "foreign" objects rezzed by a couple of people I'd never heard of. I turned AR on again and unchecked the option to allow anyone to create objects, but 2 prims remain. They are shown as selected/sat upon so I can't return them. The person who owns them isn't in-world and I am the only person in the sim according to the map and my scanner. It's a large L-shaped parcel so it's difficult to find objects. I have flown all over it and up to 768m. I have used the "show" option, removed surface patch, highlighted transparent, and used two scanners but can't locate the object. I logged out and cleared cache. I even reinstalled SL because I've been having a few problems, but the 2 prims are still shown as selected/sat-upon. How can this be? If someone is "camping" wouldn't they show up in-world?

Hmm ... I guess you tried returning these two specifically (from the list showing the names and how many prims they are using on your land). Could be some kind of "ghost objects".

Why don't you give the server a few hours time to consolidate and then, if the objects are still there and you are still unable to return them, prod the help desk to have a look.

BTW, I never understood the numbers shown under "selected/sat upon". When I checked, they didn't have any relation to what was really going on.

Thanks, Ricky. Yes, I tried to return them but to no avail. I'll do as you suggest - maybe it will sort itself out :).

;) That's definitely the most welcome kind of problems ... the ones which go away on their own, as time goes by!

Heh, I've seen some ghost objects before. Items that were being transfered from one sim to another during a crossing somewher the grid and ending up in MY sim by mistake. Unreturnable, get an error message very cryptically "You can't return this item, it exists in a different regeon from you" or something liek that.. crazy :D Everyone could see it too.

Relogging makes it go away, it was never relly in the sim at all, just some kind of asset server miscommunications.

It's pretty odd when your virtual realisty becoms unreal...
