Does LL shut down on weekends?

My region is completely screwed up and it takes forever to get a response via support ticket. Here is the problem. I live on the corner of my region. Whenever I am on my region, I am unable to rez anything, can't view profiles, can't use search, rarely can pull up map, and all of your attachments end up in your @$$. but when I cross the line to the next region, everything works perfectly. walk back to my region and everything is screwed up again. Can't teleport from my region ands when logging in, it tells me my region is unavailable, moving me to nearest region. but once I get in game, I can teleport to my region.

Still waiting on a restart. I pay $125/month in tier cost and still can't get a simple restart, so many I need to sell off everything and just be a free basic account person and say to hell with LL and SL. Just log in for free and float around. That's about all its worth now. We pay more and they keep cutting back.

Pretty much. They are a 9-to-5 5 day-a-week organization.

Customer service tends to vary widely depending on who you get, and what problem(s) you are experiencing.

Right now, the grid seems to be FUBAR, as it has been all week. So much for getting any serious work done any time soon. :-/

Hi Ike,

One of the regions I live in is in much the same condition. I submitted a ticket and told, basically, they are working on it, but that I should not expect further improvement over the weekend.

Quote from ticket response received yesterday:
We have been receiving reports of similar issues from other residents. The issue seems to be affecting some regions and not others. Teams of Lindens have been and still are working on a solution to the root issue. Please refer to the Second Life Blog for details and updates as they occur (See the topic [Updated] Service outage for certain regions).

Because there is the possibility of content loss, we encourage you to verify that Search works in the region before attempting to rez any objects.

(Please note that "Final Solution" doesn't mean we aren't working on the problem. We'll just be communicating the progress publically on the blog)

i think there is an area on the webpage under my account where you might be able to report the region to get help

is it mainland or a private sim or island?

This is mainland and can't even get a simple restart.

That just puzzles me. How can you have banker's hours with a 24/7 sim game?

It's the Tao of Linden.

It's not like SL's users are likely to be online more often over the weekend with the free time they have then or anything like that, is it?

Well if SL actually WORKED 24/7 you might have a point.

[Update 4:26PM PST 08/11/07]
Following the additional tests, we have concluded that code initially suspected to be at fault was not the root cause and so we will not be making any visible progress on this issue until Monday. To be clear, this does not mean that work on this issue has ceased (in fact, the opposite is true), it merely means that no patch or other fix is likely until next week. Several options in addition to the already written patch are also being researched in parallel, and it is looking like this issue may be the result of a network configuration problem rather than a “bug”. We will update again on Monday or as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience.

That is what I did and recieved the ticket I quoted above. It is my impression - from the blog quoted above- that a restart will not fix it this time.

SL virtually useless this weekend
08-11-2007 10:23
SL has been malfunctioning more or less constantly today for me:

- unsucessful land purchases
- failing teleports
- hanging searchs

My patience with this crap is slowly running out...

Was that communicated by Linden Lab? But for God's sake why don't they give that information on the BLOG? Bunch of airheads...

Well that's a great way to hide it.

Last night was the worst I've ever seen SL since I joined.

How else do you think they know it'snot going to get taken care of until Monday.

Time machines. Duh.
