Concierge says nothing is wrong.

I have a small rental community with 3 sims and I keep getting reports like this:

[2:36] Renter: hi jesse i'm renting a house of u for 1 week now and i still can't put thins down
[2:36] Renter: i talked to kiki about it and she couldn't help it
[2:37] Renter: i paid for 4 weeks now and i want my money back plz
[2:37] Renter: even with the tag on i still can't put things down
[2:38] Renter: i don't know wat's wrong but i wanna quit renting this house
[2:39] Renter: it costs a lot of money and i can't do anything with it



At this point, im pretty upset because its the right thing for me to refund these people, but I need renters to pay the tier fee. Concierge claimed to have come to my sims and said nothing is wrong. But people who were previously able to rez things suddenly can not. And new people coming in to rent pay and then can not even put objects down.

This is not a mistake on my side (or the renters), i have had these sims for about a year and have never seen anything like this. It is even happening on my commercial SIM where i rent out a few apartment rooms. So thats 4 of my sims with this problem, and concierge does not know whats wrong- they say "nothing"!

So now, people are leaving because they can not have fun and set up their homes..and were stuck being told "Nothing is wrong, we checked your sim. everything looks fine"--- Well then why suddenly can these people not rez objects? Its not EVERYONE who is having this problem, but a few. And even if it were only one person..id like this fixed.

Since concierge apparently cant help (Though I did put in a 2nd support ticket). Anyone who may be reading this have any idea?


Also, I do have the land set to where they must wear a group tag for their items to stay rezzed but that is not the issue here. I have also tried resetting the sims but I keep getting IMs like this. Everything for the past year was fine until this suddenly began happening.

How long have you had this problem for. I went though a period about a month ago when I couldn't rez or read notecards and I owned the land. As others were suffering the same thing in my area, I bug reported it as I thought is was down to SL witchery. The problem dissapeared about 24/48 hrs later.

I have heard that sometimes if ppl are wearing HUDs this may effect their rezzing capabilities.

Are you having problems rezzing??

It`s been going on for about a week now...atleast that`s when we received the first report. Then more reports came in. I didn`t really do anything initially because I thought it would pass, but tenants are still saying they can not rez so its not right of me to keep their money, the thing is-- i owe LL tier money as well so its extremely frusturating to have concierge tell me they dont know whats wrong, meanwhile tenants are wanting to leave.

Also they say its only on my sim, no troubles elsewhere. I`ll mention to them the HUD thing though and see if that works.

But right now I need to go refund this person *sigh*

You might want to check your group settings and land settings (obvious, I know; but, sometimes people overlook the obvious).

I still often can't rez things from inventory.

But what just about ALWAYS works, is using the CTRL-4 "Create" menu, to rez a simple prim, and then rez what I want on TOP of that prim, from inventory, then delete the prim.

It's annoying, but it allows me to rez things.

That wouldnt be a problem, my land is set to allow anyone to rez objects, however in order for those objects to not get returned they must be in group.

Oh, the problem is that it just doesn't rez stuff from inventory, not that you get permission problems? If so, then Ged's suggestion should help a lot. I've noticed, too, that since a recent update, sims have gotten very fussy about things that were always a bit tricky: rezzing from inventory onto mega-prims or the inside of a hollow prim is almost impossible now. (You might look around to see if there are a lot of mega-prims rezzed in the sim... supposedly if they're phantom it makes no difference, but non-phantom ones can confuse the physics engine at a great distance, and make rezzing very difficult.)

Do you have your land set for "anyone" to script as well......just a thought.

Here's a silly idea: Have the Concierge come out when you have renters available to try and rez objects. When it still doesn't work or you have to go through sooo much rigamarole just to rez your items, tell the Concierge you would appreciate a rebate on your tier dating back to when the problem began and continuing until SL gets it fixed.

You have 3 sims. I assume they are islands? According to what I read, that means all 3 of your Class 5 servers have to be having the same exact problem. What are the odds of that being a coincidence?

There is an old saying: "Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."

I reset the sim again then unchecked the "build" permissions on sim and re-checked them. I also kicked him from group and re-added him.

Had him try to build and he could. Then tried to have him rez an object ontop of what he built (as suggested here) and noticed it rezzed on the ground, so looked to be working now.

So thats one problem solved on that sim. It was happening on the others as well so I`ll try to do the same thing tomorrow and check and see if the other tenants issues are fixed.

Hopefully this is a permanent fix.

Group permissions may have been lagging, or maybe they joinned LL in Brighton for the weekend to play submarines.. who knows..
