a guy called jakk commented on the blog, and from his experience on sl, i believe we are soulmates. when i joined everything was rosy. it wasnt until i went premium and started scouting for firstland that i realised i had been led on. the website and the sl search suggested i would be able to get land without having to dig deep for some shithole in the middle of a adfarm with a de facto sandbox on either side of me.
then 1.15 came and sent even that to a crashing halt. i was one of the lucky people and 1.14.0 actually worked ok for me. but since the forced upgrade to 1.15 performance has taken a dive on my modern gaming rig. and i have problems teleporting, cant fly near the borders or i get thrown by a slingshot, and suffer severe packetloss and lag with as few as 15,000 on the grid. i can play doom3/hl2 on any server in world @ sub 250ms and only incidental packetloss and at a constant 100fps... (the patches are few and far between as well)
i have already voiced my disapproval by downgrading last week. i had decided to pay tier to island owners instead, because i knew what i was getting, and it was a better deal than being duped into paying top dollar to buy land in a ghetto. i rent space for vendors i even rent space to store my hippo servers! seems downgrading wasnt effective so i am going stop even spending money at all. instead i will live from freebie boxes and squat. maybe ill even set my vendors up anywhere build is enabled. i think im going to become a freeloader and look forward to the attempted merging of my first and second life in the shape of voicechat and age verification (what are my pay details on file then?). this is also the death of teen sl as well, because now we are going be regarded as teenagers in the grownup sl anyway. linden you had a great thing happening, but you are running it into the ground without even realising it.
so the resident answer im after is what how do you answer the announcement of 1.16? i think it will be far less fun for me, each forced upgrade is less fun. far less fun than firing up steam and launching natural selection.

I dont have my parcel of first land to sell on because when they removed first land they forgot to update the premium sign up page to reflect that first land no longer existed BEFORE stopping the land giveaway.
Is my timing just really really bad??
Because it seems everything I do is within 2 weeks suddenly unavailable or unfeasible.
Or could it be that LL are just so scared of getting sued every right now that they are retracing their steps and retracting everything they once offered to their customers.
