Streams are dying every few seconds to minutes...so yeah, that seems broken now too (along with the most messed up Group IMs ever LOL). Anyone else hearing (or not hearing) this?

that sounds like lag as media streaming is actually pretty simple in concept in SL. If the sound comes back and is disjointed your suffering from lag and nothing is broken. Also no I was watching a cheesy movie last night to see if i would crash and noticed nothing wrong. I was busy trying to crash the viewer or see if it would crash as the previous version had me crashing every few minutes due to a compatibility issue with my dual core processor and graphical issues with my graphics card. No crashes, the movie ran and i sat there watching it no gaps or anything just the sound and the movie hehe

Yeah, except I am not lagging. It's odd really. Might be sim specific though.

Media lag can be attributed to 2 main things.
1) The delivery server/host can lag, or not have sufficient bandwidth to multicast to each listener.
2) Client settings are not correct, and SL is taking up to many system resources, such as bandwidth and or cpu cycles.
There is a 3rd, which is relevant only to non-streamed content.. the media isn't prepared correctly, or is lagging.
Media lag has little if anything to do with LL servers... they only broadcast the set url to each avatar.
