Can someone tell me if the ingame voting stations still have a value and if so can you give me a link to any page that shows vote results or gives me further information about the stations? Thanks

My understanding is that they now do nothing at all, other than giving the parcel owner a few warm fuzzies. The Lindens stopped paying attention to them when they killed rewards for Dwell and Traffic.

The old voting stations were actually rendered obsolete by the dwell and traffic rewards. Like the system that replaced them, voting stations were gamed to death.

On that note...

I have HEARD of some kind of voting system that logs the data out to some web-servers someplace. (via emails)... My friend is opening a club, and won't accept that the voting stations are useless relics of a time gone by. ("if other people have them, they must have value, I want one";)

Where can I aqcuire either a Linden voting station.. or one of these other ones (if they truly exist)?

Actually the data from those voting boxes is complied daily, and you can view that info at http://www.slpopularplaces.com/

I believe these are completely separate from any of the Linden rankings.

Winter, I will drop you one when I get in-world....Otherwise, I believe Yadni has them in one of the older freebie boxes.

Winter, if you don't get it any other way, the above link includes a clickable "Get one here" SLURL.

I use one of these and get an average of 20/25 votes a day but recently have noticed that instead of the votes going up i seem to lose votes and the site ranking goes down, its just what i have noticed so dont rely on them ;)

I keep it as its another place our plot name is seen, but i dont totally trust it, tho any advertising is good ;)

Peace

Here's some handy info about voting boxes, including, I think, the answer to the question at hand:
