I realize it is no longer 'Live Help', just 'Help Request' but...

After major problems I attempted to get help and received this...

Almost forgot, the reason for the help request in case it can get to someone that can do something. Jsindo sim is almost unusable. No items will rez, communications is almost non-functional. Scripts are pretty well dead, all my vendors are frozen.
-----
Also just curious, my wife was talking to another resident and she was having problems. Apparently she went to help request and was told to delete her character and create a new one because of the problems she was having. This was a paid account and she lost everything she had. Why would someone tell her to do that instead of trying to fix her charater?

The system has collapsed. Logins are closed. Teleport is down. Chat is unreliable.
I wouldn't buy much or create any brilliant masterpieces of prim work tll things clear up.
Check the blog for updates.

Especially interesting when you consider that there are quite a few people who would love to be part of Live Help and have applied more than once, but never received any reply.

That sounds really strange to me... if she had a lot of inventory, I'd email LL about the incident and see if they can do something RE: getting that account reinstated. I can't imagine anybody who knew what they were talking about advising her to delete her account... more likely, they were guessing, or just messing with her, and either way gave her a wrong answer. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't imagine any situation in which you'd actually need to voluntarily delete your account and start over.

From: Geddy Overlord *raises hand* Yeah me too. I could've sworn they 'added new people as needed.'

Are you sure that help meant the account and not simply her shape/skin/clothes which can be done simply by dragging another avatar out of the library/clothes folder?

From: Ilianexsi Sojourner Yeah me too. I could've sworn they 'added new people as needed.' The thing is, this thread has rather shown the problems with the current volunteer Help Request system. For the OP - a volunteer can't restart a sim, so adding extra volunteers wouldn't have helped. They can call a duty Linden, but all duty Lindens read regular Help Requests anyway, so that's just repeating something they've already seen. And bearing in mind that the volunteer might be having a Help Request IM tab opening every couple of seconds, I hope you can understand why many volunteers - if they get a message like a request for a sim restart, that they can't possibly do anything about - just close the IM tab right away to keep control of the chaos. Unfortunately the result of that is that some people go unanswered. Trust me, nobody is happy about that. A volunteer on the other hand can give wrong advice (such as telling people to "delete their characters" , which could lose LL a customer and thus real money; and in that case LL's only sanction is to remove the person from Help Request. As far as I'm aware they're changing the whole system around. I think they're also recruiting Lindens more aggressively and volunteers less so, but I don't have a formal statement on that.
