SL provides you with more than plenty cool vehicles to ride, but it seems like every road I try to ride my motorcycle on will not let me. I get a message saying that the land owner will not allow it. Does anybody know A-any good long roads to ride on or B- how to convert my bike so that I wear it instead? I have a bicycle that I "wear" that works fine...

vehicles are often just a "statement of coolness"
you can try the roads or go to the sims made for just driving mist mooz pro racers or whatever they are called this week nissan's sims toyotas sims few othesr I am sure but yu can start there hehe i have taken a few road trips and driven from one end of SL to another and found uh some interesting things on the roads like roadkill etc its kind of fun but you have to have patience and endure sim crossings of course most of the new sims have no roads so your only able to do this on the older parts of SL mainland maybe one day you can go farther.. maybe .. |

In general, try rezzing the car on the land to one side or the other of the road. You can't usually rez things on the Linden roads themselves, as that precaution prevents people from littering the highway with prims and making it undrivable.

Linden roads will let you drive, but not rez on the road. *shrug* Some areas give you vehicle rezzing areas so you can pull onto the road. I've used the rezzing area at Stratics HQ. When you port in, there's a little platform right by the landing zone where you walk up some steps. It's clearly marked once you get up the stairs.
EDIT: And as Wilhelm mentioned, if you've never driven a vehicle across sim borders, brace yourself. It's not pretty. I dropped $2400L on a beautiful Dominus Shadow a few weeks ago, but after getting ejected from the car 3 times in 5 minutes due to sim crossings, it's been gathering dust in the garage ever since. _____________________

it seems like every road I try to ride my motorcycle on will not let me. I get a message saying that the land owner will not allow it. What Ceera said. I don't know of any way to stop someone from actually riding their motorcycle on that land, but Protected Land (and Linden roads are all Protected Land) are set to no-build so you would have to rez the motorcycle nearby and ride onto the road. _____________________

I get a message saying that the land owner will not allow it. Does anybody know A-any good long roads to ride on... go to the Waterhead welcome center In front of it is a traffic ring like circle and a connected parking lot. You can rez your vehicle in both the traffic circle and the parking lot. The parking lot directly connects to the main road running thru SL. When you get to the bridges, be warned to slow down and give them a chance to fully rez or you will fall thru. Also slow down when you cross the sim borders. Good luck with the lag. ...or B- how to convert my bike so that I wear it instead? I have a bicycle that I "wear" that works fine... go to search and enter the keyword "Viking". Viking Bikes are wearable stretch choppers and have female models (scaled down for our body structure) as well as male. The catch is that while the motorcycle is wearable, you still have to rez an "invisi-frame" which contains the sit animations and the vehicle scripts. |
