How to disable voice on my land?

I was astonished to see that voice was automatically enabled after the client update today. Which means, it has also been enabled for the First Look client in the past days, without my knowledge.

Anyway... I found the setting in the Estate tools and disabled it. But when I relog or teleport somewhere and tp back home, the "voice enabled" icon is shown in the menu bar again. I have to enable voice and disable it, in order to get rid of the icon.
Visitors to my sim are also mislead, just tested it with an alt. How can I permanently get rid of the "voice enabled" misinformation? And how can I tell if voice is really disabled on my land, without wasting money on a headset in order to test it?

Btw, I encourage every sim owner who doesnt want to use voice to disable this feature in their estate settings. Otherwise we'll soon see a statistic that 90% of all sims in SL use voice.

Another question: how is voice handled on the mainland? I didn't see any option to disable it in the parcel settings, only in the estate tools. Are mainland owners unable to disable a feature that can be used for griefing purposes?

I'm seeing the same thing - I have disabled voice for my estate, yet I see that 'voice enabled' icon in the menu bar.

?!?

Maybe it's a 'feature' designed to make it look like voice has been universally accepted with open arms and rejoicing.

I had this issue with the First Look viewer too, when I was trying TO enable voice on my plot. It had the 'Voice Enabled' icon, but when I clicked the silly thing, it say voice wasn't enabled. I wish I had reported it! I could have suggested they turn the thing red to let us know voice isn't enabled on the parcel.

I went to my mainland plot and it was set to Voice when I arrived, but I changed the setting in the parcel media tab and it immediately made the voice icon go away. I moved around to other parcels and back and it seems to have 'stuck' on the mainland.

But on my island, the 'voice enabled' icon remains.

I went to a friend's island and there was no 'voice enabled' icon there.

I'm wondering if it's just a bug where if you are on an island that you own or that you are estate manager for, the icon is always there?
