New to SL and totally stuck in Orientation -- help?

I've earned all the stars except for two things that has me totally stumped.

1) Orientation island, Communicate area, I've talked with Phatt and earned the first star and also done the dance for Phret and earned the third star.

But whenever I go up to Phitt, he asks me for the name of the prophecy from Phatt. Phatt had mentioned a book so I type out the full name, exactly as Phatt had mentioned.

Phitt never does anything, and I don't earn the star. From hanging out there for hours today, I see this has stumped dozens of other new SL citizens, too.

2) Orientation island, Appearance area. I've earned the first two stars (from the chainmail sweater or whatever it was, and from changing body shape). I've also done the snapshot thing, too. I still don't see where or how to earn the third star, though?

Any pointers here would be immensely appreciated, so that I can then begin interacting on the main land. Thanks in advance!

unless Orientation island has chagned drasticly in it's policies you should be able to continue down the path to the flying lesson to TP out of OI.

*blinks* That's a joke, right?

What happened to the walk down the path, fly and *poof* you're done orientation?

If you're stuck on orientation island, you should be able to just use the map and teleport off (search for Ahern and you'll end up at the welcome center).
Failing that, anyone can offer you a teleport away from it as well .

When I got my alt (late August) that was changed already, the only way off Orientation Island was to go to Help Island, then wander around there looking for the tp to the mainland.
If they're making people earn stars now, no wonder only 10% sticks around .

That's what I thought.
I seriously need to like make a new account or something. Took me 2 hours to get outta OI on my first account and that's cause..the beach ball was ticking me off.

I have no idea what it is like now, but with my alt. There were at least 20-30 people just standing there at the landing spot alone, with all the resulting pushing and bumping and shoving that comes with learning to walk.

Maybe I'm anti-social but I don't think I would have stuck through to the end with so much crowding (and horrible lag). My real orientation was just me and I never saw anyone else the entire time. Gave me plenty of time to read everything through and try things out without needlessly getting distracted or bothered which at that point you have no idea on how to deal with (at least I didn't ).

Thanks, all! I'm now on the mainland and very impressed by what I've seen so far. Back to exploring some more.

I'd say you're more than ready to get to the mainland and start having FUN for heaven's sake. I just got two alts in the last week. I landed at the starting point of OI and teleported straight to ahern with no restrictions whatsoever.

Click on the search button at the bottom of the window. Select places or all and search on "ahern". Select the welcome area from the list and hit the teleport button and off you go. There are most always helpful folks at ahern willing to chat with new residents and answer questions.

I was helping a newbie yesterday and it has changed totally. ( I was watching over his shoulder in RL) There are now 4 sections, all different zones with tasks to complete for stars, yesterday some sections said 'not yet completed' and gave you a star anyway. We have yet to finish it so I hope he doesn't end up stuck there! I'll TP him and train him up myself
