OK so status currently says:

'The Second Life grid and portions of the Second Life web site are currently down due to unplanned circumstances. We appreciate your patience and we will re-open the grid as soon as possible.'

but Blog says nothing new just that the update has started

Will these unplanned circumstances affect the grid being back up at the scheduled time?

C'mon people a little info perhaps even a progress report or two wouldn't harm would it?

The downtime was planned.

Someone at LL fubared on setting up the Grid Status messages.

Hopefully someone will smack his/her nose with a rolled up paper and have them fix that after the update.

Grid should be up by 12 noon PDT. (Give or take 5 hours ^.~)

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Heh, as soon as I saw that this morning, I knew there would be loads of confused people. On the bright side, if that's the only mistake that happens, this will be the smoothest update in SL history. Here's hoping.
