As most of you should know by now, gambling has been banned in SL. We all should know the reason why by now too.
Now get this, I have used my CC a few times since I have been on SL; my Ls run low and I buy 1k. Last Sunday I was broke again so I bought another 1KLs. About an hour later I got a call from my CC company; yes on a Sunday. I was asked about the recent use of my CC on SL, as SL is listed as a suspect site, as in my CC company has SL under investigation. I'm sure it has nothing to do with these 5 year olds trying to find a way around the gambling ban, or those casinos thaty are still in operation. So if you are having trouble using your CC on SL, and can't find any reason for your CC to decline an SL charge, you know why now.

So I would like to thank these people that are trying to find a way around the ban, or just ignoring it for the possible future; very near future, loss of the use of CCs and paypal on SL.
I will be working on a list of people still making gambling machines, casinos still in operation or places that still have gambling machines so we know whom to thank when we can no longer buy lindens.

I just don't get why these people are so hell bent on setting things up so none off us can buy Ls on SL. Because that is just what is going to happen.

Happens to me too. Bank of America is very conservative about protecting their customers --- ahem .. themselves, rather -- from fraud and so I routinely get calls from them about Lindex transactions. It's annoying, but it doesn't faze me too much.

Actually, a good portion of that is also related to the hacking a year or bit ago, where a lot of us had to cancel our CC's and report potential fraud because the information was compromised. A better portion of this is also the fact that LL is a US based company using an overseas bank, which is a major warning flag for potential fraud. Yes, I called my bank and found this might affect my being charged by LL too.

And yes, this is just heaping more fuel onto the pile, but I can't complain.. my bank has their assets... I mean, my best interest at heart!

Anyone that still has gambling devices should be ARed immediately even if you aren't having this issue. No one's above the rules.

What gets me is there are ways to gamble legally in SL, but it seems that some are not bright enough to figure them out. And I'm not telling ;)

Manstan, several CC companies were doing this even BEFORE the gambling ban. I don't think the two are (necessarily) related.

Club Funny Groove (edit) 'still has some' gambling devices. As soon as you walk in, you get hit up to contribute to the sploder. they had a cool roulette game there, and i was 1/2 tempted to pay L$5 just to see it spin, but i didn't want to get banned for gambling if i had won.

I have Bank of America as well. I am glad they call me to make sure it is really me.

I still see some gambling items here and there. I ignore them as soon or later, they'll be nuked. A couple of places I let the owner know, but they didn't understand English so they may find out the hard way.

Actually the reason there is a flag with your CC is because SL uses a European company to process their credit card charges. So the flag goes up when a US based Company uses a processing center from another country. It's up to you to tell the bank that charge from Second Life, Linden Labs is ok.
