Currently, If a resident has an issue with someone abusing them, being extremely intolerant or even aggressive in a prejudicial way. We have chat logs and IM logs that if configured will save these attacks in a fourm suitable to submit for review. With the announcement of soon to be deployed voice communications in SL, (much like Ventrillo, or TeamSpeak i assume) Will the clients be recording "audio" if configured, whats going to stop someone from attending a gathering of people with whom they have a problem and using this new feature to express their juxtaposed position? I do not intend this post to be a discussion on intolerance, or (in the US at Least) 1st Amendment rights. Im more interesed in what other residents know about how this technology has been used/abused in other online experiences, And how the sanctioning organizations ( Blizzard, Sony, EA) deal with VoiP speech issues. So you're just against people recording your voice messages? or both chat messages and voice messages?
How can recording voice messages be abused? Well I know we all make fun of Donald Duck for the way he talks. But if you talk like Donald Duck then I'm doubtful that you'd want use voice chat anyway.
Am I missing something, Ekeinus?

Yes Suisei you are...
Anyone can record me anytime they want , chat or otherwise . In fact I think its an important thing to have in place. The post asks what other MMORPG and such have done in the case of abuse. And if they rely on any "audio logs" in that process.
Im just curious if it too is "logged" , and if so is there a policy for its use that differs from the chat log which presumably is cashed on the servers also. I dont think anyone short of the NSA / DHS would supply resources to record say 12,000 concurrent, viop enabled , users 24/7.
