Hi.I've been trying to get logged back into sl for the past hour. I get the "logging in second life may appear frozen please wait" screen forever. Then nothing. What's going on here today?
Does anyone know?

The grid is down for maintenance. Check secondlife.com/status or the blog from the forum menu.

I'm having trouble too, Open window, log in, says loggin in second life maybe frozen, please wait then it stops responding.

I've rebooted, done a fresh install, now in the process of doing a virus check (nothing as yet, 99% sure my puter is clean).

I was on this morning but no problems at all, I logged out and tried to log back in 5 mins later and this is happening *confused*

I have checked blogs, there is NO mention of grid being down for maintance or any problems with SL in general, last status update was on Monday.
It says there is 15,694 people inworld right now, so I know the grid is up and running.

Porky

I've looked all over and find no mention of the grid being down for maintenance. Can you please send me the quote that states downtime? Or the link to it? thanks.

Basically they're having massive problems right now, but refuse to update their customers in typical LL fashion these days. I mean they've been having intermittent problems all week yet if you looked at the blog you'd think things have been fine since monday's problems.

Then why do I have 15 friends inworld right now if the grid is meant to be down?

Dragon,

Thanks so much for your help.
They certainly kept the news and the place to find out about it well hidden.

It's back up now, friends could have been ghosts or more likely they just never got logged out, it wasn't an official downtime just things crapped themselves and they shut down loggins and said "oops maintanence" without really shutting down the whole grid

I checked secondlife.com/status and that said the grid was down for maintenance...still does now infact. In my experience the friends online figure can take a while to update sometimes so not a good indication of the current grid status.
