Hands-off moderation will only work if the person leasing the web space doesn't have a web host that's going to pitch a fit if they receive a complaint.

Hands-off moderation will only work if the person leasing the web space doesn't have a web host that's going to pitch a fit if they receive a complaint. meh that's not true actually the problem is the internet is like a giant photocopy machine with a library attached taht sticks like forever if your not careful once someone posts something it can be all over the place in like 24 hours. Some people just dont know where the line is and insist on going over it. They invariably ruin it for the rest but in doing so will possibly embroil the owner of whatever site in all manner of things from trademark problems to ending up in a court room I dont know about you but most people want to avoid running around the world wasting time on such matters. In this case they come dangerously close and have had a few small problems in the passed and the larger the population the higher the risk and the more problems. In short self moderation doesn't work. If stuff like that did work scams and rips offs would not be present in SL and the people named nick would not be an issue ![]() _____________________

So was this Second Citizen popular? Could it beat this forum in a street fight? Understatement of the century. Second Citizen would beat these forums in a fist fight, then go on to beat up the family of the forum-as-entity. Then it would go on to beat up everyone the forum ever met or knew. |

And Yet,, Which one is still alive, and which one is dead? Angel. as Raymond puts it "its just resting" and I think they are putting it back up but this time with a couple of rules to keep the worste stuff away. Even then it will still outperform this one I think as far as umm "volatility" goes or "flamability" lol _____________________
